Formed in Faenza in 2016, Mondaze introduced their sound with "Healing Dreams", a self-produced demo featuring three tracks, released in 2018.
It is at the end of 2021 that the band gives vent to its fuzz-infused sounds, creating a refined and immersive record, with enveloping distortions and persistent in its pulsating rhythmic density. "Late Bloom" became an international co-production involving several labels, including Church Road Records (UK), Quiet Panic (US), and Through Love Records (DE), leading to a widespread distribution.
Distant melodies create soundscapes to wander towards a floating world, lulled by a murky and intimate, if not almost interior, vocal line. A record that blends grunge immediacy with melancholy downtempo, a biting hardcore attitude and repetitive doom swirls, resulting in a heavy shoegaze as powerful as a storm and gentle as rain.
Three years later Mondaze signed with Bronson Recordings and return with a new album, "Linger", addressing the theme of alienation in a world devoid of contemplation. Their sound has grown more mature and layered, elevating the dualism between the delicate beauty of ethereal melodies and the intense power of the wall of sound to new heights, emphasizing the pure sonic expression of shoegaze.
The album was recorded by Andrea Scardovi at Duna Studio, mixed by Chris Fullard (Idles, Boris), and mastered by Maurizio Baggio (The Soft Moon, Boy Harsher). "Linger" is set for release on November 22nd, 2024.
